La historia tiene lugar en un mundo donde un virus ha asolado a toda la humanidad a excepción de los niños, que fueron esclavizados por vampiros. El protagonista es Yuichiro Hyakuya, un esclavo humano que sueña con hacerse lo suficientemente fuerte como para matar a todos los vampiros.
